Candy's September Recap: New Features from Last Month!πŸ“ΈπŸŽ‰
Hello, wonderful photographers!

‍

Candy here, bringing you the first edition of our Recap series! 🌟

‍

This blog post will cover alllllll of September's new features and changes worth mentioning! But going forward, we will be doing Weekly Recaps to keep you in the loop even faster.

‍

We've been busy bees these past few weeks, and I can't wait to share all the fantastic new features and improvements we've made to help you shine even brighter. ✨

‍

Psst... since this is our inaugural recap, we're covering updates from all of September, so grab a comfy seatβ€”it's a bit longer than usual! Going forward, these recaps will be weekly and shorter, but just as sweet. πŸ˜‰

‍

1. Manual Gallery Assignment & Participant Creation πŸ› οΈ

‍

We're thrilled to announce that manual gallery assignment and participant creation are now live! This means you can:

‍

  • β—‹ Assign images to someone's personal gallery manuallyβ€”perfect for those shots where the subject wasn't facing the camera, and face recognition didn't pick them up.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Create participants manually, either one at a time or by uploading a spreadsheet.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Instantly trigger marketing campaigns to individuals when you assign images to them, ensuring they receive their photos promptly.

‍

We believe this will greatly enhance your workflow and support needs. Let us know how it helps you during your next event!

‍

‍

2. Tweaks to the Retail Site for a Smoother Experience πŸ›οΈ

‍

We've made several improvements to our retail site to enhance the shopping experience for your clients:

‍

  • β—‹ "Tap image to get started" text now shimmers on the initial gallery screen to guide users who aren't sure what to do next.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Package creation improvements make it more intuitive for customers to customize their packages and select photos.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Product renders in the cart: The view cart screen now displays product images next to every item, including items within multi-item packages, for increased clarity.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Updated header and footer: Clear guidance on when to contact our retail support or reach out to you, the photographer, for assistance.

‍

These tweaks aim to make the purchasing process as seamless and enjoyable as possible for your clients!

‍

Great news! The Default Price Levels from our previous NowCandid system are back and better than ever.

‍

  • β—‹ Optimized for success: Designed to boost your sales potential.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Versatile options: Suitable for a wide range of events and client needs.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Easy to access: Gives you good Offer options in a pinch or when entering a new market.

‍

‍

‍

4. New Image Notifications for Previous Purchasers πŸ›ŽοΈ

‍

We've improved our marketing system to better serve your clients and help keep those sales up:

‍

  • β—‹ If someone purchases on Day 1 and is photographed again on Day 2, they will now receive a notification about the new images added to their gallery.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Enhances customer engagement: Keeps clients informed and encourages additional purchases.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Prevents missed opportunities: Even early buyers stay in the loop for new content.

‍

This ensures your clients never miss out on their special moments!

‍

‍

5. Google Pay Added to Express Checkout Options πŸ’³

‍

We're excited to introduce Google Pay as a new express checkout option!

‍

Our available payment methods now include:

‍

  • β—‹ Traditional credit/debit card checkout
    ‍‍
  • β—‹ Apple Pay
    ‍
  • β—‹ Google Pay
    ‍
  • β—‹ PayPal (and PayPal Pay Later)
    ‍
  • β—‹ Venmo

6. Capture App Version 4.4 for iOS & Windows πŸ“±πŸ’»

‍

The latest Capture App Version 4.4 is now available for both iOS and Windows, featuring:

‍

  • β—‹ Keyboard support for Windows: Windows laptop users can now input phone numbers using the keyboard when using the Tap-A-Face Workflow.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Performance improvements: Smoother and faster app experience.
    ‍
  • β—‹ sRGB color checking: The app now ensures images are in sRGB format, preventing issues caused by Adobe RGB images.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Event Selfie Check-In QR code display: Access the QR code directly from your device when needed.

‍

Upgrade now to enjoy these enhancements!

‍

‍

7. Enhanced Folders Report πŸ“Š

‍

Our Folders Report (which you can find using the Graph button on an Event's Management Page) just got more powerful:

‍

  • β—‹ Sortable columns: Organize by images, participants, sales, and more.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Real-time insights: Works live during events, allowing you to identify your best-performing photographers, mid-event.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Actionable data: Mid-event reporting helps you provide immediate feedback to your team to boost performance.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Download button: This report is now downloadable via the green button in the screenshot below as well!

‍

Optimize your event management like never before!

‍

‍

8. Bulk Visibility Control for Image Folders πŸ“

‍

We've added a handy button in the Manage Images page, when you have a folder selected:

‍

  • β—‹ Mark entire folders as visible or invisible with one click.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Use cases: Quickly hide a batch of images that need reworking, such as a blurry set.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Saves time: Streamlines the process of managing large numbers of images.

‍

Sometimes, mistakes happen! Now you can use this button to quickly hide images in bulk as you work to correct issues.

‍

‍

9. Customize "All Event Images" Gallery Settings πŸ–ΌοΈ

‍

You now have more control over the All Event Images gallery:

‍

  • β—‹ Override default settings at the Offer level.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Options:
    ‍
    • Turn off the All Event Images gallery for Face Matching Events.
      ‍
    • Turn on the All Event Images gallery for Positive ID Events.
      ‍
  • β—‹ Recommendation: We suggest sticking with the defaults, but if you'd like to explore the pros and cons, click here to schedule a chat with us!

‍

Tailor the gallery experience to suit any event's needs!

‍

‍

10. Simplified Selfie Check-In πŸ“²

‍

We've made the Selfie Check-In process even more user-friendly:

‍

  • β—‹ Only requires a cell number OR email address.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Encourages participation: Even though neither field says "optional," most people still provide both.
    ‍
  • β—‹ Addresses Fringe Issues: Every now and then, someone doesn't have (or refuses to provide) a cell or email address. This change will account for those individuals!

‍

Enhances guest engagement and reduces fringe support issues, with no changes on your part!

‍

Theme:Β Liquorice

‍

11. New Unsubscribe Keyword: "NOPE"! 🚫

‍

We've introduced a new, fun way for clients to manage their marketing preferences:

‍

  • "NOPE": Clients can reply with this word to opt out of marketing for a specific event.
    ‍
  • Future communications: They will still receive messages for future events unless they opt out again.
    ‍
  • Accidental "STOP" replies: If someone replies "STOP" though, they'll need to send "START" to our marketing number to resume receiving texts.

‍

This gives your clients more control while still keeping communication lines open for future events.

‍

‍

12. Seasonal Retail Themes: Apple Crumble & Candy Corn πŸ‚πŸŽƒ

‍

Get into the festive spirit with our new retail site themes:

‍

  • Apple Crumble:
    ‍
    • Autumn colors: Warm and inviting hues.
      ‍
    • Falling leaves: Adorable "leaves falling" animation upon gallery arrival, check-in completion, and after checkout.
      ‍
  • Candy Corn:
    ‍
    • Halloween vibes: Shades of black and bright orange.
      ‍
    • Candy corn confetti: Fun "candy corn toss" animation to celebrate the spooky season upon gallery arrival, check-in completion, and after checkout.
      ‍
    • Haunted Retail Site: A few ghosts frequently fly across your customer's screens as they shop!

‍

Delight your clients with these charming themes!

‍

Note: the Leaves &Β Candy Corn only fall across the screen upon gallery arrival, check-in completion, and after checkout - these GIFs are simply showing it in a loop :)

Weekly Recap: Apple Pay Everywhere, Capture App 4.22 & Clearer Check-Ins πŸ¬πŸ“±

Β minutes read

Hey photo friends! πŸ‘‹

‍
Candy here with a new batch of improvements across the Dashboard, Retail checkout, LiveLoopβ„’, and the iOS Capture App. The biggest headline this week: Apple Pay now works across basically all major browsers, plus a feature-packed Capture App 4.22.

‍

πŸ›οΈ Retail: Apple Pay in More Browsers

‍

🍎 Apple Pay is now supported on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox

  • 🍎 Including on Windows and Chromebooks. More shoppers can check out faster with fewer steps.
    ‍

🧾 Manual checkout fixes

  • βœ… Fixed an edge case where β€œShipping address is same as billing” still forced shipping entry
  • 🧹 Fixed an edge case where a prefilled participant email had trailing whitespace and blocked checkout

‍

πŸ“± Capture App iOS 4.22

‍

πŸ“· Fujifilm file names now match the camera’s file name‍

  • Helpful for keeping filenames consistent with what you see on-camera.
    ‍

πŸ“Ί AirPlay shows the latest/selected image by default‍

  • Think of it like a one-device, real-time mini slideshow. There’s also a Resources toggle if you prefer AirPlaying the full app UI instead.
    ‍

🧩 Folder naming rule update: No underscores in folder names

  • Underscores are now reserved internally, so the app will prevent using them in folder names going forward.
    ‍

🏷️ Selfie Check-In Station can require PhotoTag check-in‍

  • Matches the web behavior and is controlled via your Custom Offer Advanced Settings.
    ‍

πŸ«₯ Check-in reference images hidden from the shooting strip‍

  • Keeps the strip cleaner and focused on the images that matter for sales.

‍

πŸ–₯️ Dashboard: Clarity & Capability Updates

‍

🏷️ Additional Contact badges on PhotoRoster page‍

  • Additional contacts now show a badge there, just like on the Participant List page.
    ‍

🚫 Legacy Events can be marked invisible‍

  • The visibility toggle is now available on legacy event details pages too.
    ‍

🍬 Candy got smarter and more capable‍

  • Improvements across: main Candy, Compare Report Candy, Image Timeline Candy, and Mini Candy.
    ‍

πŸ“Š Compare Report improvements

  • ✍️ Fixed a typo
  • 🧠 More intelligent summary output
    ‍

🧾 Reports fix: Hidden events no longer appear in the specific event selector

‍

πŸŒ€ LiveLoopβ„’ Fix

‍

🧼 Cutout preview edge case fixed‍

  • Cutouts won’t show with a checkered background during the β€œin-progress” phase. LiveLoopβ„’ now also excludes anything from a TKO destination folder, which resolves that temporary display issue.

‍

βœ… Check-In Label Updates

‍

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« Non-sports Events now use clearer labels

  • β€œFirst Name” β†’ Photo Subject’s First Name
  • β€œLast Name” β†’ Photo Subject’s Last Name

‍

That’s the scoop for this week!

‍

Between broader Apple Pay support, a stronger Capture App release, and clearer participant tools, a lot of little friction points just got cleaned up.

Hey photo friends! πŸ‘‹

‍

Candy here! This week’s updates are big on visual workflows: more orientation options for our 3D products, a new Calendar view for Events, and PhotoTag-powered LiveLoopβ„’ links for better slideshow control.

‍

Let’s jump in!

‍

πŸ–ΌοΈ Big Product Upgrade: Horizontal Orientation for 3D Plaques & Prints

‍

End customers now have more flexibility when ordering these 3D-rendered products:

‍

πŸŽ“ Graduation Plaque now supports a new horizontal design

‍

  • πŸ”„ Orientation can be switched during the live 3D render

‍

‍

✍️ Caption preview fix: Premium Print/Plaque now correctly reflect the default β€œLine 2” in the 3D render before a shopper enters their own text

‍

These updates make it easier to sell premium products even when the β€œbest” shot isn’t a perfect vertical crop. βœ…

‍

‍

πŸ“… New Dashboard Event Calendar View

‍

Prefer a more visual way to plan and review your schedule?

‍

πŸ—“οΈ Event Calendar is now available via the calendar button on the Event List page

‍

πŸ‘€ Great for spotting what’s coming up at a glance, instead of scanning a long list

‍

‍

πŸŒ€ LiveLoopβ„’: PhotoTag Links

‍

LiveLoopβ„’ just got more flexible:

‍

🏷️ PhotoTags now have LiveLoop links

‍

  • β€’ Found in a couple places on the PhotoTag page in the Dashboard
  • β€’ Pulls in new images automatically, just like a normal LiveLoopβ„’

‍

🧾 Cleaner titles & history

‍

  • β€’ LiveLoop page now shows the Event name in the title bar, history, and links
  • β€’ PhotoTag links show as: PhotoTagName – EventName

‍

Perfect for running separate slideshows per team, division, day, or group without juggling multiple Events. ✨

‍

‍

πŸ–₯️ Dashboard Improvements

‍

🧹 New β€œClear” button in Manage Images select mode (clear selections without re-entering select mode)

‍

πŸ“‹ PhotoRoster uploads improved:

‍

  • β€’ πŸ“ž Additional phone columns now ignore parentheses (like main phone)
  • β€’ πŸ”€ Columns can be in any order (matching Event roster upload behavior)

‍

πŸ”— Fixed Image Details lightbox link for images manually removed on Participant Details

‍

🧾 Positive ID Code PDF sorting updated:

‍

  • β€’ A–Z participants with no PhotoTag‍
  • β€’ Then PhotoTags A–Z (participants A–Z inside each)
  • β€’ Then blank cards at the end

‍

πŸ›οΈ Retail & Check-In Updates

‍

🚫 Invisible Events are now truly inaccessible

‍

  • β€’ If an Event is marked invisible, its retail site + check-in pages now show an β€œEvent is no longer available” screen

‍

🌎 Positive ID check-in phone formatting helper

‍

  • β€’ If an existing registration code has a phone without β€œ+”, we’ll append β€œ+1” to default to US country format (unless it already starts with β€œ+” for another country)

‍

🧩 Fixed a retail site crash when the Statuette Ornament was included in a package

‍

πŸ›‘οΈ iPhone GalleryGuard now loads faster

‍

πŸ› οΈ Misc Fixes & Improvements

‍

πŸ–¨οΈ Backprinting updates for existing Events when your business info is updated (previously it was locked to whatever info existed when the Event was created)

‍

βœ‰οΈ Fixed a strange edge case where email-only participants wouldn’t send if another email in the queue contained β€œ.@”

‍

βœ… Improved email validation across all web check-ins

‍

That’s the week!

‍

Between horizontal premium product designs, PhotoTag-level LiveLoopsβ„’, and a Calendar view for Events, you’ve got a lot more control over how things look and how you run the day. πŸ’«

Hey photo friends! πŸ‘‹

‍
Candy here. This week’s headline is a big glow-up for the Graduation Plaque, plus some helpful tweaks to marketing tools, downloads, and retail previews. Here’s what changed.

‍

πŸŽ“ Graduation Plaque: New Look, New Render

‍

The Graduation Plaque just got a major upgrade:
‍

  • πŸ†• New physical product with an updated finish and feel
    ‍
  • πŸ’° Cost increase of $0.48 to match the upgraded production
    ‍
  • πŸŒ€ New live 3D render on the store sheet (like the Premium Print/Plaque experience)
    ‍
  • πŸ–ΌοΈ 2D render on the checkout sheet for performance
    ‍
  • πŸ”» Diamond Press upsell removed (was available on the previous version, may return in the future)

‍

You can spin and inspect the new design in 3D here: πŸ‘‰ Preview the new Graduation Plaque in 3D

‍

‍

Perfect for seniors and ceremonies where your customers want a keepsake that really feels special.

‍

πŸ”’ Private Image Download Gallery

‍

The Private Image Download Gallery now has a new landing popup.

‍

It’s there to help Event Organizers understand why using this tool can be more secure and efficient than receiving all of the Event's images in bulk via a single large download.

‍

‍

πŸ“Š Dashboard Updates

‍

πŸ“ˆ Marketing History chart improvements

  • Chart is now hidden when empty, so no more blank space
  • You can switch between Daily / Weekly / Monthly views

‍

πŸ“‘ Participant Download spreadsheet upgrades

  • Now includes each participant’s retail gallery URL
  • Handy if you’re doing third-party marketing or need to drop direct links into outside tools or messages

‍

πŸ›οΈ Retail Site Improvements

‍

πŸ”˜ Photo Button render updated

  • New live render that is larger, cleaner, and has no background
  • Matches the style of other renders
  • Render assets are about 15% smaller (faster loads)

‍

⬇️ Press-and-hold download wording fixed

  • Previously, when there was no paid full-res product, the popup said β€œmedium res” even though it was actually full resolution
  • Now correctly says β€œfree download” in that situation

‍

πŸ“Έ Press-and-hold download fixed on QuicPortraits

  • Press-and-hold works properly again on QuicPortraits Events

‍

πŸ–ΌοΈ Luxe Prints artwork fix

  • Store sheet no longer shows artwork overlays on Luxe Prints (since art isn’t available on that product, yet!)

‍

🧱 3D render cropping fix

  • Horizontal previews for 3D renders on the store sheet now use a center crop, not a full-fit that squished the image in the render, whoops!

‍

🧩 Misc / QuicPics GO

‍

πŸ‘₯ Group image flagging in QuicPics GO!

  • You can now flag images as Group Photos in QuicPics GO! via the Dashboard
  • Works similarly to other non-Quic event programs and keeps group images organized for marketing and gallery behavior

‍

That’s it for this week!

‍

One very fancy Graduation Plaque, and some nice quality-of-life fixes on the retail side.

‍

Keep doing great work,‍

Candy 🍬

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
